What is the AI zombie trend?
The AI zombie trend, also called the zombie love story, is a short AI-generated film that spread on TikTok and Reels in late September 2026 and was still climbing in early October.
Every clip tells the same story. Someone you love, or your pet, has turned into a zombie. You aim a gun at them, crying, and cannot fire. You lower the gun, open your arms and close your eyes, and the film cuts to your happiest memory together in a golden wheat field.
The clips look alike because most start from the same app template or from prompts describing the same shots. Most are filmed wide, in 16:9, which is why they sit letterboxed in a vertical feed, and run between 12 and 24 seconds.
The four beats
0–4 s · The cabin
A tearful close-up behind a raised gun while the one who turned walks closer across the room.
4–6 s · The face
An extreme close-up of the zombie: ashen skin, clouded eyes, bared teeth. No blood or gore.
6–10 s · The leap
The gun drops, arms open, eyes close. The zombie sprints across the cabin and leaps.
10–15 s · The memory
Mid-air, the film cuts to a golden wheat field and the same leap lands as a hug, both of you alive.
The full shot list

- 1–3 s, Over the shoulder. The zombie staggers closer across the cabin.
- 3–4 s, Front medium. Both hands on the gun, shaking.
- 4–6 s, Extreme close-up. The zombie face: ashen skin, clouded eyes, a snarl.
- 6–8 s, Front medium. The gun is lowered and dropped, arms open, eyes closed.
- 8–10 s, Side-on wide. The zombie sprints and leaps at the survivor.
- 10–15 s, Wheat field. Match cut in mid-air: the same leap lands as a hug at sunset.
Three ways to make the AI zombie trend
An editing app template
Find the template from a trend video in CapCut or Dreamina, sign in, add your photos and export. The route most tutorial videos show. You need the app and an account there.
A prompt in a video model
Paste the prompt below into a model that takes two reference images, such as Seedance, Kling or Veo, then retry until the shots and faces hold. Most control, most retries.
This generator
Add two photos and press Create. The shot list is built in and the video comes with sound. Paid per video; failed videos are refunded.
AI zombie trend prompt
This is the prompt our generator uses for the couple version. Image 1 is the survivor holding the gun, Image 2 is the one who turns. Use a model that accepts two reference images and 15-second output.
Zombie love story, couple version
15 seconds · two reference images · with sound
One continuous 15-second cinematic short film, widescreen film look, dramatic natural light, no text, logos or extra characters. 0-4s: Inside a dim, abandoned wooden cabin, a tearful close-up of the survivor from Image 1 aiming a handgun toward the camera, hands shaking; over the shoulder, the person from Image 2, turned into a zombie staggers closer across the room. 4-6s: Extreme close-up of the zombie: pale grey skin, cloudy white eyes, dark veins, bared teeth. No blood, wounds or gore. 6-10s: The survivor lowers the gun, drops it, opens both arms and closes their eyes. The zombie sprints across the cabin and leaps at them. 10-15s: Match cut in mid-air to a golden wheat field at sunset: the same leap lands as a warm hug, the person from Image 2 healthy and alive again, then a slow spin and a smiling close-up. Sound: tense cabin ambience, breathing and heartbeat, then a soft emotional piano score in the wheat field. No dialogue, no lyrics. Keep both identities exact in every shot: match faces, hair, body build and clothing to the reference photos. Do not swap, merge or redesign them.
